The cake above, as you
can see is full of color. All the colors stand out individually and together as
a group. As a cake decorator, you should always go with what the customer
wants, as strange as it may seem. Always leave them with good customer
satisfaction and great service. When a customer talks to me about what type of
decoration they would like on their cake I always let them know if I am skilled
enough to give them what they want. I am not an expert at covering a cake with
fondant. I can make simple decorations like bows or simple decals to make the
cake look presentable and nice. If a customer shows me an example of the cake
they want and I know I am not all that skilled in making what they want I
always let them know what I can and cannot do or I find a solution for them.
The key to it is to have a customer happy and satisfied. I do not tell them my
weaknesses in cake decorating to drive them away from any service. I do it so
that they know what they may expect from me. The cake above is not covered in
fondant. It is another cake I decorated using the same rose technique but it is
decorated with four different colors that may be odd for some people, but it
was what the customer wanted and what I could deliver to her. Simple but sweet.
